Maidenhead Carnival 2008

Maidenhead's Charity Event...

Thursday and Friday 5 & 6 June 2008

Live music will be performed at many Maidenhead pubs and clubs in the early evening as an introduction to the carnival.

Saturday 7 June

Town centre: a market will be operating with stalls, sideshows and entertainers. Local music, theatre and dance groups will be performing.

In the afternoon the main action is at the riverside. There will be a bar, games and live music at Riverside Gardens. Stalls will be placed along the riverside road. Bray Marina Cruiser Club will cruise the river with some suitably decorated party boats.

At 8.30pm there is a concert by The Rat Pack tribute orchestra. They will be performing from the top deck of a river boat, The Southern Comfort.

At 10.30pm the evening finishes with a firework display.

Sunday 8 June

Town centre: market and stalls, sideshows and entertainment - to remain open all day.

12.00 midday: Carnival Parade in the town centre with a variety of exhibits like marching bands, dancers and the Carnival Queen.

2.00pm: Charity relay marathon with teams tackling a 2.6 mile course.
