Located right next to the road bridge that takes the A4 over the River Thames. Used to be a mansion, converted to a hotel in 1888. Large 3-sided bar is open to non-residents. "Blue River Cafe," part of the hotel, looks good with modern furniture and a reasonable menu. Attentive and friendly service, and if you're lucky you will get a window table with a lovely view of the bridge across the River Thames. At least six daily specials are on offer. Restaurant open for lunch and dinner. Smaller selection of food available at other times. The hotel has 53 bedrooms and is rated AA 3-star. The Blue RIver Cafe used to be "Jerome's Riverside Restaurant" until around 2003.
