Out on the B3024. This pub looks very 1950's from the outside. However, inside it is anything but! Most of the pub has been converted to a restaurant. Very smartly furnished, lots of pine wood tables and chairs. Light wood floor and wall panels with uplighters giving a very open and friendly feel. Small bar area. Menu combines traditional meals with modern inventive dishes and good sauces. Traditional roasts through to salads and fish dishes are available. There's a specials board too. The excellent salads are around a fiver. Main courses range from around £7.50 to £12.50. Traditional sticky puddings £3.25. Friendly waitress table service (though not particularly fast). Lovely presentation of food, very well cooked. Stella lager £2.50/pint. Jazz themed prints on walls. Large car park. Children's play area and garden out the back.
