The Stag and Hounds - Eating & Drinking Guide

This small pub has two areas, one (the Hounds) with dining tables and the other (the Stag) a smaller saloon bar with fewer and smaller tables. It's been decorated with a rather dark green colour scheme. Contemporary music and chatty locals make for a friendly atmosphere. Though a small menu, the food is great. Archibald Beckett and Arkell's Kingsdown Ale were amongst the real-ales available when we visited and they were both lovely! Guest ales always available. One gambling machine, not much room for anything else. Toilets are in a separate building. Large and well kept beer garden with a serving hatch, barbecue and children's climbing frame. Well worth a visit, especially if you are a beer lover.
