A charming pub just off the A4 going towards Reading, about 1 mile past Knowl Hill. The Queen Victoria is about 50 yards from the main road on the right. The turning off the A4 is signed Upper Wargrave. Brakspears beer including Old Special. A traditional style pub with white-washed walls and black painted woodwork. The building is around 300 years old and has some low beams in places. Some outside seating, though it can't really be described as a garden. Lunchtime and evening food served. Small and cosy inside with friendly service. No piped music, one gambling machine. Non-smoking area inside to the right of the bar. New conservatory added late 1999 to the left to improve what was already an attractive pub. The food is lovely, very hot and delivered speedily. Brakspear Special £2.30/pint, meals include Pork Madras with popadams £5.95 and Plaice goujons with chips £5.95. Fattening puds too.

We really can't think of anything negative to say about this pub. Well worth a visit.
