Bistro restaurant just outside the town centre. Modern looking inside and out, this bistro is open for Sunday lunch at £11.95 for two courses and £14.95 for three courses. Menu selections include warm salad of garlic mushrooms, bacon and croutons to start. Main courses include knuckle of ham with parsley sauce, or chicken/beef/lamb roasts. Main courses come on huge round white plates and are presented well, though the service can be patchy and slow at times. Our main courses could have been much hotter too. Desserts include chocolate fudge cake, bread and butter pudding and apple and caramel tart with crumble topping. All menus are on chalk boards and so presumably change regularly. Inside, the fairly recent redecoration is evident, the colour scheme is lime green and the tables, chairs and floor are all bare wood. Candles are used in the evenings and there are modern prints on the walls. All this gives the L-shaped restaurant room an attractive friendly feeling. There is a small bar area at the entrance. There's also a small though unexciting outside eating area. Large no-smoking area. Capacity about 70 diners. Car park for about 10 cars. Lots of potential, give it a try!
