This friendly pub, run by a couple with hotel experience, has a relaxed and cosy atmosphere and is well worth a visit. Comprehensive food menu from sandwiches through bangers and mash and fish dishes to roast dinners on Sundays. They also serve ostrich - we believe there is an ostrich farm nearby. Food is served lunchtimes and evenings. Plenty of large tables. The pub is tastefully decorated with bare brickwork, beams (not too low), floor to ceiling bookcases and real-effect gas fires. Small garden/terrace for summer drinking though this is not the pub's strong point as it is directly beneath the final approach path for aircraft landing in an easterly direction at Heathrow... Jazz on Sunday evenings - free entry. No gambling machines or pool tables. Morland brewery. Peter Taylor from Preston writes on 21 May 2000: Fifield Inn just got better! Excellent hospitality, great beer and very good food. Well worth the visit. Will certainly call again next time when in Southern England. Nick Stirr writes on 10 October 2000: My family & I spent a most enjoyable evening at The Fifield Inn on the 3rd Spt 2000. Keith Vitty & his group supplied us with superb jazz, The food was excellent & the staff kind & efficient. It was an evening long to be remembered. |
