Award winning restaurant run by chef Heston Blumenthal. One of only a few restaurants with 3 Michelin stars - the third was awarded in January 2004. Modern French and English cooking, large wine list. Tends to be rather expensive. Small bar area at the front. Restaurant capacity of around 50, open Tuesday to Saturday for lunch and dinner.

Gary Revell writes on 17 August 2001:

Dined there on Saturday, 4th August 2001. I found the restaurant ambiance pleasant and it is bright and well decorated. The staff are attentive, helpful and explain each dish as it arrives.
I had scallops to start, rabbit for main course and a Millefeuille for dessert.
I enjoyed the different courses and tastes and loved the whole grain mustard ice cream, the red pepper lollipops and the smokey bacon flavoured petit fours.
However, there really was not enough to feed anyone with an appetite. The food is of a very high quality and well presented but I had to stop off at Mcdonalds afterwards that night, my dining partner felt the same.
  • Service 9/10
  • Ambiance 9/10
  • Food Quality 9/10
  • Quantity 4/10
I'd be reluctant to dine there again and felt I did not get value for money.

Ian Thomas writes on 11 December 2002:

Comment is about the Fat Duck in Bray Review. Obviously written by an American - the food quantity was perfect - he/she obviously didn't understand the point of the restaurant. The food is the best I have ever had - and even thought £250 for dinner for two was good value given the quality of everything.
