Old traditional pub in this small village a couple of miles south-west of Maidenhead. In fact 'old' is an understatement - the building dates from the 14th century. The pub has several rooms with different characteristics. The main bar has an open fire, a wooden floor and tables and chairs by the low bar which includes several real ale hand pumps. Beers include Bass, Brakspears and Wadworths 6X. There is a small non-smoking room at the front and another bar room with fire and low beams to the right. To the back is a restaurant-style room with glass-covered dry well for all to see under the floor boards. Decent food menu. A couple of tables outside at the front allow a view of the village's church just over the road. There's also a garden at the back. Children allowed in some parts of the pub. Worth a visit.
