This country pub has many assets, like a front garden with tables overlooking the village cricket ground (watch for low flying balls!), a sunny conservatory, an enclosed rear garden ideal for children with Boule court, two bars, an open fire, non-smoking dining area, real ale and above all great food and service. Whitbread brewery but also serves Brakspear ales. Smart contemporary decoration; spot the flying bees on the wall. Friendly uniformed staff who know what they are doing and look like they enjoy it.
