Have fun in Maidenhead town centre and riverside areas - and remember to give generously to charity collectors. |
Once again the town will come alive with a spectacle of charity fund-raising fun on Saturday 10th June as the carnival arrives. There are lots of activities and attractions - you can plan your day using our special guide. |

Saturday in the town centre Saturday's activities start off in the town centre. Highlights in the town centre include the Continental market with stalls and side shows. Plus watch out for street entertainers in the High Street. The parade starts at 12 midday in Bridge Avenue and runs through York Road, Broadway, Queen Street, High Street and back to Bridge Avenue. Maidenhead Arts Local arts groups will be performing throughout the town centre - whether your interest is ceroc, recorders, portraits or concert bands, you will find something to see and hear. Riverside activities start a little later and
are timetabled to the right.
You won't miss the big England football match - you can see it on a big screen in Riverside Gardens. After the big match Riverside Rock will entertain you with bands such as The Underline, New Highs, Lizzie M, Feud, Subject to Nothing and The Static Action. You will also be able to see stalls and side shows, a mini fairground and be refreshed at the beer tent! Later in the day, Maidenhead at the Proms is our riverside concert, view it across the water. Music includes piecs from the Beatles and Proms classics such as Rule Britannia. The fireworks after the concert provide the traditional end to the carnival at around 10.30pm. Whilst the above activities are all free, you are asked to give generously to the charity collectors in the area and at the exits! |

Car parking is available in the town centre and at Town Moor - entrance on Blackmore Lane, see the town maps for details. The car park is also shown on the town map above. A charge of £1 will be made, proceeds to charity of course. It's run by 1st Maidenhead Sea Scouts. Free shuttle buses run from 1.00pm until 11.00pm. There are 3 stops - St Cloud Way (near Sainsburys), rear of Fire Station (for Town Moor car park) and Thames Hotel (for the riverside area). Enjoy your day! |
